Aaron Kennedy is the founder of Originate, a website studio working out of the Sovereign Centre in Weston-super-Mare.
He left a job of nearly ten years to go all-in on his first client, working from home before moving into a co-working space. Originate has since scored 9,565 small-business websites in and around Bristol against a five-pillar framework, and found an average of 42 out of 100: only about one in nine passes Google's mobile speed test, and two in three have no real person anywhere on the page.
The studio has now abandoned the content management system altogether. Foundations sites are designed by people, built with AI and edited by conversation rather than a dashboard, from £99 a month. He runs strategy, the build and the AI infrastructure behind a team of three.
